Agreement and fees

Dr. Martinez charges fees that are based on the recommended fees published by the Ontario Psychological Association (http://www.psych.on.ca/About-Psychology/Getting-help/What-to-expect-when-seeing-a-psychological-profess). Fees for psychological assessments will vary depending on the time involved to address the referral concern.

In Ontario, fees for psychological services are not covered by OHIP. However, many insurance plans and employee extended health benefits plans cover a portion (or all) of psychological services. It is recommended that you check your coverage under "Psychological Services", "Paramedical" or "Other Medical" expenses. Please also verify if there is a "daily maximum" that can be claimed, and what "the reasonable and customary amount" for claims is set at. Some insurance companies may require a referral from your family practitioner. You will be required to submit your own claims. Whatever amount is not reimbursed by your insurance company might be able to be claimed as a tax deduction on your personal income tax as a medical expense.

Clients pay for the service at the start of each session; payments can be made with cash, cheque, or Interact e-Transfer.

Clients who do not cancel 24 hours before a session may be charged for the full session, depending on the circumstances. If there is an unexpected emergency, then please give me as much notice as you can; I will always extend the same courtesy to clients, in the event that I need to reschedule.
